I've discovered a breast lump. Should I wait until my annual checkup?
If you discover a breast lump, we strongly recommend that you consult our medical team immediately. While regular checkups are important, you shouldn't waste any time if you discover a breast lump.
It's always advisable to have any changes in your breasts investigated as soon as possible to ensure a timely diagnosis and, if necessary, appropriate treatment. Please don't hesitate to contact us to schedule a follow-up examination. Your health is our top priority.
Why is mammography recommended for screening?
Mammography is a proven method for the early detection of breast cancer and is recommended every two years for women aged 50 and over who have no family history of breast cancer.
It makes it possible to detect even the smallest changes in breast tissue – often long before a lump is palpable and before symptoms appear.
Microcalcifications can also be detected this way. Microcalcifications are tiny calcium deposits in breast tissue that become visible on a mammogram. They are invisible to the naked eye and cannot be felt. Microcalcifications can be benign or indicate precancerous lesions or breast cancer.
Early diagnosis of breast cancer significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and cure.
Since there is currently no breast cancer screening program in the canton of Zurich, we register you for mammography as part of your preventive or annual check-up.
If you have any questions about mammography or would like to know whether it is recommended for you, we would be happy to advise you personally!
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your insurance card, a list of your current medications, and relevant medical records.
Can my partner accompany me to the examinations?
Of course! Support from a caregiver—be it a partner or another trusted person—can provide valuable emotional support, especially during important examinations or pregnancy.
Your companion is welcome to attend examinations in our practice!
Many appointments, especially ultrasound scans during pregnancy, are meaningful and emotional moments. It can be very beautiful to experience these special moments together.
It can also be helpful to have a trusted person at your side during other discussions, such as family planning or certain medical treatments.
Together we can better understand information and make informed decisions.
Our goal is to make you feel comfortable with us. That's why we place great value on creating a supportive and open atmosphere.
My doctor has recommended surgery. Can I get a second opinion from you?
Yes, of course! You have the right to seek a second medical opinion at any time.
A second opinion can help you better understand the proposed treatment, consider possible alternatives, and make an informed decision. Health insurance companies cover the costs of a second opinion.
It may be useful to consult an independent specialist who is not directly involved in the planned operation.
If you are unsure, talk to your doctor about it – open communication is crucial to making you feel comfortable with your decision.
On our homepage, under the heading “Operation,” you will find useful tips for preparing for an information session.
We are happy to help you find the best possible solution for your health
What examinations are necessary during pregnancy?
The type and number of examinations during pregnancy depend heavily on the individual risk profile. While two ultrasound examinations are covered by health insurance in Switzerland for an uncomplicated pregnancy, additional examinations may be necessary for high-risk pregnancies.
In addition to medical examinations, we work closely with experienced midwives who accompany the pregnancy and provide valuable support. They not only help with prenatal care but are also available to answer questions about the birth and the postnatal period.
Our goal is to provide expectant mothers with the best possible care and ensure a safe and comfortable pregnancy. If you have any further questions or would like individual advice, we are happy to help!
Do you offer alternative medical treatment options?
Yes, alternative treatment options can be a valuable addition, especially in cases of chronic diseases or during and after cancer therapy.
They help to reduce suffering and improve general well-being.
Alternative and complementary methods can include, for example, naturopathic approaches, acupuncture, osteopathy, physiotherapy, relaxation techniques or special nutritional strategies.
While some of these methods can help relieve symptoms and improve quality of life, it is important to coordinate them with conventional medicine to avoid interactions.
We are happy to advise you individually on possible complementary therapy approaches and work closely with specialists to ensure holistic care. If you have any questions or would like a personal consultation, we are available at any time!
I suffer from autism spectrum disorder and struggle with sensory overload. Do you offer a customized consultation?
Yes! We offer a special consultation for patients with autism spectrum disorders. These appointments are specifically scheduled at off-peak times to keep the practice quieter and create a relaxed atmosphere.
Visual and acoustic stimuli are deliberately reduced to ensure a pleasant environment. We take care to minimize waiting times and avoid distracting impressions as much as possible.
During consultations, we emphasize calm, clear, and structured communication. Examinations and consultations are explained transparently, and there is ample time to get used to the environment.
To schedule an appointment, please contact us by email at info@arztpraxisseeblick.ch or by phone at 044 512 88 22. Our team will find a convenient time for you.
I have endometriosis – how often should I come for a check-up?
The frequency of check-ups depends on various factors, including the severity of endometriosis, symptoms and chosen treatment.
In general, we recommend:
- Regular gynecological examinations, usually every 12 months
- In case of severe pain or changes in symptoms, more frequent monitoring may be advisable
- During drug or surgical therapy, targeted follow-up checks may be necessary
During the consultation, your individual needs will be discussed – together we can determine the appropriate check-up schedule.
Will I be seen by the same doctor at every appointment?
Yes, we place great value on continuous care and a trusting doctor-patient relationship. If you regularly visit our specialist consultation hours, you will always be cared for by the same person.
If there are exceptions – for example, in the case of an emergency and Ms. Beck or Mr. Faoro are on vacation or attending a training course – you will be informed in advance.
Thanks to our practice software, your medical data is accessible at any time, so that you can receive quick and targeted help.
