Precaution

Regular check-ups are an important part of your preventive healthcare.

We attach great importance to offering you comprehensive and sensitive care in order to support your health in the best possible way.

Our doctors are at your side to carry out individual preventive examinations and identify any health problems at an early stage. We offer a wide range of preventive services, including

  • Cancer screening examinations: Regular examinations for the early detection of cervical cancer and breast cancer.
  • Cancer risk advice: individual advice and risk assessment for targeted prevention.
  • Hormone status: examinations to check the hormone balance and general health.
  • Sexual counseling and prevention: Open and confidential discussions about sexual health and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

The course of your consultation - structured, individual and attentive

Every check-up begins with a detailed consultation. We take the time to discuss your personal concerns, complaints and questions. Among other things, we will talk to you about

  • Your current contraceptive method or your desire for contraception
  • Your menstrual cycle: regularity, intensity and duration of bleeding
  • Possible intermenstrual bleeding or abnormal discharge
  • Your current medication intake
  • Existing metabolic diseases

We deliberately avoid routine blood or urine tests without a specific reason. Instead, we only carry out diagnostic steps when they are medically appropriate. This is not only efficient, but also helps to reduce unnecessary healthcare costs.

Physical examination

The patient takes a seat in the gynecological examination chair. First, the external genital organs are examined and the lower abdomen and lymph nodes in the groin region are palpated.

A speculum is used to assess the vagina and cervix - an instrument that enables a gentle examination. With the help of a video colposcope, the vulva and vagina can be examined in their entirety for conspicuous changes under magnification.

This is followed by a bimanual palpation examination: with one hand in the vagina and the other on the lower abdomen, the position, size and mobility of the uterus is assessed. It is also checked whether there is any pressure pain, which can indicate a possible inflammation in the small pelvis.

What is a Pap test?

The Pap test (also known as a Pap smear) is an important gynecological screening test for the early detection of cervical cancer. A small cell sample is taken from the cervix with a brush and examined in the laboratory for cell changes. This examination is painless, only takes a few minutes and can make a decisive contribution to the early detection of precancerous lesions.

Vaginal ultrasound

A vaginal ultrasound can be used in addition to the physical examination to assess the uterus, ovaries and other structures in the small pelvis in more detail. However, this examination is not necessary for every check-up. We only carry it out if there is a specific medical reason for doing so during the consultation or physical examination.

Breast examination

As part of gynecological screening, we also offer breast examinations. This is carried out by palpating both breasts and the surrounding lymph node regions in order to detect possible changes at an early stage. Palpation is an important part of the early detection of breast cancer and is supplemented by imaging procedures if necessary.

We will also be happy to advise you on breast self-examination and whether further diagnostics - such as an ultrasound or mammogram - are advisable. We will make the decision together with you, based on your individual situation, your age and possible risk factors.
