Isthmocele correction

An isthmocele is a scarred bulge in the area of the uterine scar that can occur after a caesarean section.

Isthmoceles are sac-like protrusions that can be found in the uterine wall and often lead to symptoms such as pain, bleeding or infertility. In some cases, treatment may be necessary to alleviate symptoms or improve fertility.

Hysteroscopic isthmocele correction

During hysteroscopic isthmoceloplasty, a thin instrument, the hysteroscope, is inserted into the uterus. The hysteroscope allows the inner wall of the uterus to be viewed in detail. The isthmocele can be treated with the help of special instruments.

Hysteroscopic isthmocele correction is generally gentle, minimally invasive and can be performed on an outpatient basis. The advantages of this procedure are faster recovery and less pain.

Laparoscopic isthmocele resection

Laparoscopic isthmoceles correction using the rendezvous technique is an advanced procedure for the treatment of isthmoceles. Isthmoceles are sac-like protrusions in the uterine wall that can lead to symptoms such as pain, bleeding or infertility. Laparoscopic isthmocele correction using the rendezvous technique is a minimally invasive surgical method used to remove these protrusions and repair the uterine wall.

During the procedure, a laparoscope is inserted into the patient's abdominal cavity. The laparoscope is equipped with a camera that shows detailed views of the abdominal cavity on a screen. Special instruments are inserted into the abdominal cavity through small incisions to remove the affected tissue and reconstruct the uterine wall.

The rendezvous technique refers to the cooperation of the hysteroscope and laparoscope during the procedure. It enables precise and efficient treatment of isthmoceles, minimizing the risk of complications and shortening the recovery time by protecting the healthy uterine wall.
